v2.8.1: Provider unknown with IPv6

Hello,
in Piwik v2.8.1 the visitor log doesn’t show visitors provider if it comes with an IPv6 adress, pls notice attached screenshot (“unbekannt” ) .
GeoIP(PECL) is working with Maxmind’s ‘GeoLite City’.
Visitor’s privacy is set as shown in screenshot.

How to solve this issue, how to get the provider even if coming with IPv6?

Is it still not implemented? A patch is provided, pls see:

thanks for reporting this. maybe you have tested the patch in the issue itself? I guess it’s old and needs some updates.
regardless maybe you could create a new issue for this bug speciifcally , because I cant find any existing issue about this?

in the first screenshot you can see that Provider works on ipv6 address (or used to work)
