1.3 broken in several places?

I do notice that my questions here are addressed in other threads as well, but I also notice that I get a combination of at lest two of them - AND that one of these seem abandoned and unanswered. After upgrading this morning to 1.3, Piwik fires the following three rather evident errors:

[ol]
[li] “Oops… problem during the request, please try again” in the top center area (orange color)
[/li][li] “Loading widget, please wait” on all widgets, except the world map
[/li][li] World map: “error while loading data (SecurityError)”
[/li][/ol]

My installation is a hobby project and not at all important.

please check your apache error logs there will be something there?

I totally forgot to include:

Windows 7
Apache 2.2.11
MySQL 5.1.36-community-log
PHP 5.3.0 (cli)

…and my Apache error log only returns notice-messages. Nothing of interest, in other words, as far as I can see:

Try disabling third-party plugins, and enabling the following in php for debugging purposes:

error_reporting = E_ALL | E_STRICT
display_errors = On
log_errors = On
error_log = /var/log/apache2/error.log

(note: you may have to restart apache)

Thanks, those are already on. :slight_smile:

Hi,

could you solve this problem? I have the same issue.

Thanks, Andreas

PM your site URL to either matt or myself, a login+password, and a reminder about what the problem is, so we can take a look.

Ah - wonderful… I just discovered another problem in addition to the ones mentioned in my original posting. If I log out, I am not able to log back in. Site replies “busy or unavailable” if I attempt to log in. I think I am going to tear it all down and start from scratch. I guess I can create a parallell directory and use the same database for starters. So - for the moment, sorry, not able to let anyone else log in. the account I have that is ALREADY logged in, works just fine. Weird…

“busy or unavailable” is not a Piwik error in any way, so check with your Webhost

Hi, thank you for your reply. I will create a login for you. In the meantime, I have checked my apache error.log and I see this segmentation faults:

The strange thing is, that before upgrading everything worked fine.
Apache: 2.2.9-10+lenny9, PHP: 5.3.3-0.dotdeb.1, MySQL: 5.0.51a-24+lenny5

Not interested in starting a mail war here, but when I upgrade and it no longer works afterwards, it is the upgraded app and nothing else. All other webs work flawlessly here. What I - however - agree to, is the fact that you guys are no longer able to log in on my website, since Piwik refuses to start the login process. Tested from two computers and rebooted everything. The already-opened URL (does not timeout when you reboot…) works within the limited “works” as described in my initial posting. I am now going to do a parallell installation of Piwik 1.3 from scratch, and we’ll see what happens… Stay tuned.

Discovery: I just installed Piwik in a parallell directory and with a parallell database. I still can’t log in to the old one, but the new one opens just fine and with all the dingbats and woohas you’d expect. If I copy the config.ini.php from the old installation and into the new one, the new one fails miserably, too. And - bonus - if I now am so bold that I import my SQL data from the old installation, the login fails again. This time I do get an error:

SQLSTATE[42S02]: Base table or view not found: 1146 Table 'pw13.pw_option' doesn't exist

But this table doesn’t exist in the old database structure, either, and it doesn’t seem to create itself when I click “Go to Piwik” or “Login” as suggested below the error code.

Not excactly ready to draw any conclusions, yet, but I still do want to discretely point to files not getting upgraded properly OR a database structure that’s not entirely converted/created. Just my $.05 on the subject… :slight_smile:

Just installed 1.4 Beta in a fresh directory and everything worked just great. I went one step further and imported my data from 1.3. I then got a message saying I needed to upgrade my database, which I did. It then prompted me to go to my Piwik page so I could log in. I did … and the site does not answer. Next: Going over my SQL data to see if I messed up when exporting, renaming and then importing my tables. Argh…

I gave up this one and reinstalled from scratch… :frowning:
