A/B testing and Multivariate testing (like Google Website Optimizer)

Hi,

I know these features have been suggested before, but I’m wondering if there are any plans to implement AB testing and perhaps even multivariate testing in Piwik in the near future?

I saw the issue was reopened a while ago in bugtracker:

Apparently there’s a piwik plugin that should support A/B tests, but it hasn’t been updated in 2 years, and I guess it’d only support A/B tests and not multivariate tests:

While analytics is great to learn about what users are doing on a website, experiments are a great way to learn how to improve that behaviour. It means website owners can make their websites more efficient, and get better results. Every day you’re NOT running an experiment is a day wasted learning.

There’s an open source tool called Genetify that could perhaps have been integrated, but it doesn’t seem to have been updated for a year, and the demo didn’t work 100% in my Firefox browser.

The core piwik team will not work on this (it’s not part of our roadmap: Roadmap - Analytics Platform - Matomo ) but if someone offers the code, we will look at it

Thanks for the quick feedback! I was hoping genetify might be that code, but I guess it’s difficult to introduce major features into the 2.0 roadmap at this stage.

Perhaps for 2.1 or 3.0?

Hello,
