Image Tracking URL does not work with Google Mail

Dear All,

I have a question related to integrate tracking using the Image Tracking URL for my newsletter email.

It works perfectly if I open email newsletter in Outlook, Thunderbird Mail, Apple Mail. But it does not work with Google mail (Google Inbox, Gmail and App). I found that this problem is caused by Google always re-generate new URL:

https://ci3.googleusercontent.com/proxy/..#https://example.piwik.org/piwik.php?idsite=1&rec=1

Is there any suggestions to solve this problem?

Hi,

As you have found out Google proxies all images in E-Mails in their Web-Interface. This is to avoid tracking and I don’t know a way to circumvent this (except maybe some trickery with getting the user to click on a link and then track this request).
