Purging "tmp/assets/"?

Hey there,
on my PIWIK Server the “tmp/assets/” is growing big lately … already some GB on Data …
Now I wanted to ask if there is some kind of automatic purging Script to clean up those Temp Directories or if I have to manually clean them up from time to time … (automatically temp purge Script would be nice …)
If manually - is it save to delete Data within “tmp/”? Do I have to take care of something?

--- /var/www/piwik/tmp ---
    2.2 GiB [##########] /assets
    3.1 MiB [ ] /cache
    2.8 MiB [ ] /templates_c
  252.0 KiB [ ] /sessions
   32.0 KiB [ ] /tcpdf
   32.0 KiB [ ] /latest
   20.0 KiB [ ] /climulti
   16.0 KiB [ ] /logs
    4.0 KiB [ ] .htaccess
    4.0 KiB [ ] index.php
    4.0 KiB [ ] index.htm

Thank you, bye from Austria

I presume there are heaps of files in there for the email reports? Are you on the latest Piwik version? In Piwik 3 we fixed a bug that it should delete the generated reports after sending them, see ScheduledReports not removing/unlinking reports · Issue #10788 · piwik/piwik · GitHub (this might not work if Piwik does not have proper file permissions) so it shouldn’t grow as much anymore.

Apart from this there is no automatic purging.

Hi @thomas_piwik,
thx for your reply! I’m on the latest Piwik Version … you are right the space is eaten up by leftovers from E-Mail Reports … did a cleanup now and hope it won’t grow again because of fixed Bug #10788
bye from sunny Austria
