Installation problem in step 3

Hi all,

my apache/mysql/php installation meets all the requirements and I entered the two sql statements from Piwik Requirements - Analytics Platform - Matomo via phpmyadmin.

So I have a database called “piwik” and a user called “piwik”, too.
Alas, in step 3 of the setup assistant, where you enter the database server, name, user credentials, table prefix, I get the error
"Error while trying to connect to the database server:
SQLSTATE[28000] [1045] Access denied for user ‘piwik’@‘localhost’ (using password: YES)"

I double checked the password, seems okay. Anyone any idea what I can do?

Problem solved!
Problem was: I entered the wrong password! shame on me

I don’t understand, yet. I changed the user piwik’s password and entered the new one.
Obviously changing the password didn’t work.
