We have an internal newsletter for which we are testing campaign tracking for users who click on links that point to our intranet websites. This is fine for sites we control and can put the tracking code in for the URLs. However, there is a desire to track a user’s clicks to external site that we don’t control. It seems the best way to approach this would be a intermediary script that tracks the click and then redirects the user to the desired external link.
Is this the right approach? Does this type of script already exist for use with Piwik?
